Today we’d like to introduce you to Dakota Armstrong.
Dakota, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had a love for motorcycles, even as a kid. I am originally from upstate NY and attended MMI Orlando. After graduating, I worked in multiple dealerships here in Florida and in New York. Working in the parts department, service writer, and then as a technician. My passion for performance led me to taking on more responsibilities like building engines and dyno tuning. Eventually, I came to a point where I knew I had more to offer & I was at a standstill. We opened Ryno Motorsports in August 2021 in St Cloud & have been very blessed since day one to have the opportunity to work on such amazing machines with the most amazing customers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business is never a smooth road. It’s a rollercoaster with challenges along the way. Finding our current location was definitely a challenge because St. Cloud doesn’t have many industrial zoned areas and there weren’t any spaces available when we began our search. Fortunately, we were persistent & were finally able to secure a spot to grow our business
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in performance motorcycles and dyno tuning. We are most known for our dyno trailer at the Ace Cafe bike night every Thursday. We perform dyno runs and answer questions any riders may have. Our dyno trailer is what sets us apart because we do many events statewide and help grow our brand.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My wife Brittny, keeping the day-to-day shop tasks moving as well as handling all the behind-the-scenes work. she makes sure every customer is taken care of, all questions are answered, and every quote is given. She always believed in me and my ideas even when the risks are high.
