Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryant De La Rosa.
Hi Bryant, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. My family always had music playing in the house, to the point where our house was the go-to party house every weekend. My dad’s setup was over the top: he had concert speakers, a disco ball, strobe lights, and even a smoke machine in the living room.
Despite my music-centric upbringing, I didn’t fully realize that I wanted to work on music as a career until about 8th grade when we had to make a music video for a group project. That music video, as well as a second one that was made for fun, ended up being entered into a competition and winning awards.
Years later, I enrolled into Full Sail University under the Recording Arts Bachelor’s Degree. I wanted to learn more about the technical side of making music so that I could make my projects sound as professional as possible.
After graduating in 2016, I have spent the rest of my life working on my production, engineering, and songwriting through prestigious internships, freelance gigs, and just making music for myself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road has been far from smooth. Pursuing a successful career in such a creative field is such a roller coaster where the highs feel like cloud nine and the lows feel like you’re suffocating. The ongoing sense of imposter syndrome, long periods of time with no work, sleepless emotional nights, and unhealthy obsession with feeling productive are some of the hardest struggles to overcome, but all it takes is one person to listen to the fruits of your labor and share genuine kind words to make them all go away. Having someone resonate with a song you made or a project you released is such an inexplicable rush.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a music producer and audio engineer that specializes in mixing. To be honest, I don’t really know what I’m known for, but lately, I’ve kind of become that guy who makes music using the work of visual artists as a reference. Despite being very proud of being invited into Timbaland’s Beatclub group, I’d say my pride comes from reading messages from artists telling me they like my latest song or thanking me for giving their pieces a soundtrack.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m pretty easy to reach on IG and/or my email. I’m always looking for singers, rappers, songwriters, instrument players, painters, modelers, animators, or anybody creative really! I’m easily driven by the creativity, passion, talent, and goals of others. The thing about me is that I’m down for whatever
