Daily Inspiration: Meet Jerel Henry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerel Henry.

Jerel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I became an entrepreneur at a young age. Like many, I had started out cutting grass as a young man and got very good at it. I had many yards in the neighborhood and continued to do the same even after my mother had moved us out of Tangelo. The idea of being in business for myself had stuck with me and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. After networking over the years and trying many business models, becoming creative and using that to make an income was what worked for me. I started out with basic invitations and flyers but quickly got into custom vinyl creations. Once I realized how much I loved doing it that’s what stuck. I run a mobile hookah lounge as my secondary business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I was denied my first bank loan for lack of longevity. In haste to secure a sizable contract, I purchased a piece of large equipment that was never used because the company that ordered the work went under. One of the first major events my hookah company was booked for was shut down by the sheriffs because the promoter failed to secure a liquor license. And of course, we can’t forget what the coronavirus has done to businesses large and small.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a multi-faceted entrepreneur. I am known for being creative in making custom vinyl designs. I am also known for being involved in live events and running my hookah business. I am most proud of recently becoming a published author. What sets me apart is that I’ll entertain all types of business ideas and I won’t hesitate to empower others to reach for their own personal success in business and in life.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
If someone wants to work with me all they would have to do is email me, message me on social media, or catch me at a local event. If you want to support me purchase one of my crafts, book an event, or purchase my book which is for sale at Barnes & Noble.
