Daily Inspiration: Meet Cody Broach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Broach.

Hi Cody, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Kirksville Missouri. Was I kid, I had always loved movies and tv shows. When I was in 6th grade, I made a video for my math class. I had such a fun time. My friends and I started making videos after that. When I was about 15 or 16, I helped start all the live streaming at my church. At first, it was just me doing it all along with videos for the YouTube channel, but it grew to where we needed more people and more equipment. I have my own YouTube channel call Broach Studios where I upload all my work from short films to music videos, etc. now I will be starting my career in the industry at Seaworld Orlando as an entertainment tech and further grow my knowledge in my passion of video and live production.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At the beginning, it was a bit rough because I wasn’t exactly sure what I was doing, but the more I taught myself and the more work I put into it I was able to grow. Limited equipment and money made it difficult. This field is not cheap.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love to bring stories to life that are both funny and Family friendly. I want to make videos and short films that are fun for everybody. Making people laugh always brings me joy. I will occasionally try my hand at more mature type films while keeping it a little PG-13. I want to create videos for everyone to enjoy.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The industry is always changing. Equipment gets better and better and the people are always bringing their own spin on things. I can definitely picture the a MARVEL movie being shot for a VR experience of some kind.
