Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, my name’s Ariana Rosario! I’m born and raised in Viera, Florida, a quaint but blossoming community in the heart of the Space Coast. I’m a recent graduate of Eastern Florida State College, studying Organizational Management, which helped me build the framework of Coastal Cottage, a clothing brand I founded 7 months ago. Growing up, I made so many fond memories by the beach with my family. I remember my mom rushing me and my sister to get ready and it was always a struggle to find something comfortable enough for the beach yet formal enough to eat at all my mom’s favorite dinner spots. Finding a balance between those two is what inspired my clothing line, it’s elegant, feminine, and wearable.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a 19-year-old business owner, it hasn’t always been easy wearing all the hats of my business. From working with manufacturers, content creation, and balancing a budget, I’ve definitely faced a learning curve. My mom has been a saving grace, she’s the founder of Lucia Jewelry, and her advice and infectious tenacity have been lifesaving. The woman I am today is a product of my family who has inspired me, my faith in God which has uplifted me, and my community which has supported me.
We’ve been impressed with Coastal Cottage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Coastal Cottage is a Viera-based clothing brand that specializes in elegant yet wearable styles, great for the beach or brunch! From flowy, floral mini dresses to adorable flower clips, Coastal Cottage is known for trendy yet classic pieces to wear time and time again. Our fashion style is a fusion of Coastal Beachwear and Cottage core, I pull a lot of inspiration from both aesthetics to create a feminine, romantic style perfect for days by the sand. Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding mentors is something that can be difficult for many budding business owners. I am an incredibly blessed woman who was raised by two entrepreneurs. My Mother is a Jewelry Designer and my father is a businessman, so I’m so blessed in that regard. I would advise those who are looking for mentors to join social media groups for business owners and socialize by searching geo-tags in their area. It is inspiring to support other local businesses and uplift each other through collaboration and friendship!
