Meet Natsumi Miyazak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natsumi Miyazaki.

Hi Natsumi, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I used to be a national team member of Japanese synchronized swimming. I got a silver medal in the fine World Cup. I got terrible harassment and unreasonable behavior from that head coach. My dream was to become an Olympic medalist however I had some mental disorder from her. So, I retired when I was 21yo. After that Le Rêve, the dream at Wynn hotel gave me an offer to be a performer for the show in Las Vegas. I came to the US and worked for Le Rêve as a performer for 5 years. But pandemic hits then the show closed permanently. I created the show with Cirque du Soleil performers during a pandemic. We opened for six months.

I got an offer from O by Cirque du Soleil in June 2021. And I created another show in Las Vegas, we opened the show in April and I’m performing for this show as a pole dancer and a s a contortionist.

I’m an owner of @Artisticswimming_skills for all swimmers in the world. I’m trying to give everyone my experiences and my skills for their training and practicing. Sometimes I’m coaching for them and coach for United States elite members.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My Instagram is for swimmers, their parents, and coaches. I can’t make money from that now. It’s all free and volunteer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an artist and performer. I perform Cirque Du Soleil and Particle ink and other shows in Las Vegas and California. That I said before I used to be on the National team as synchronized swimming. So, I perform as a synchronized swimmer but I also perform as an apple dancer, aerialist, and contortionist.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Spend time with my parents. Because I became a national team member when I was 15yo. And my life was all about synchronized swimming. Always I had training camps and competitions. I could go to school once a month or so until I retired (until 21yo). Then after retirement, I came here to Las Vegas for the shows. So, I didn’t have time with my parents.
