Conversations with Lorena Pages

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorena Pages.

Hi Lorena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve been making comedy content my whole life for my friends and family but only began posting it in 2020 on TikTok. The content had great engagement, and it began to grow very rapidly. I had about 600k followers on TikTok when one of the audios I made in the middle of quarantine, “love it, couldn’t wear it,” went very viral. In a matter of days, celebrities and brands were using my audio or recreating the joke. Within months I began working with brands such as Nike, vogue, banana republic, Vera Wang, and more. I have been writing and creating audio and videos full-time since then.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This industry can be very inconsistent, but I have been fortunate to continue working with new brands every month. Some months are better than others as in every freelance job, but it has been consistent overall. Another struggle could be keeping control over my content. The internet moves so fast that I lose credit along the shares and repost, or brands use the content without consent. I have learned to appreciate the fact that it is being enjoyed, and that will always be a part of this industry that most, if not all, content creators struggle with.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create comedy content and voiceovers for social media. I am known for audios like “love it, couldn’t wear it,” “please don’t get me,” and a few others. I play many characters such as my cats, animated bugs, fruits, vegetables, and more. I also create content with my Hispanic mom. I went to school for fashion design and worked for many years as a designer, so there is a fashion aspect to many things, especially the audio.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Orlando is a city that is growing at such a rapid pace that it is very exciting to watch. There are new restaurants, events, shows, and people every day. I love the lakes and how green it is. The only thing I miss, coming from Miami, are the beaches, but I can’t complain, they aren’t too far away….
