Exploring Life & Business with Amela Hunter of Bodies By Body

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amela Hunter.

Hi Amela, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a rough neighborhood surrounded by people just trying to survive. And because of those circumstances, I always wanted to help people. I was homeless in 2013 and found my way to enlisting in the military. After the military, I decided to do something that could benefit myself and others. I fell in love with massage therapy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely has not been a smooth road at all. I graduated massage school in Philadelphia in 2016. I worked in many spas with some rude awakenings. Starting Bodies By Body was a risk but my love for muscle therapy never went away. I’m extremely persevering.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bodies By Body. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
So, Bodies By Body is an overall health and wellness business. I specialize in corrective exercise, muscle therapy, health, and wellness. I use massage therapy as a way to relieve stress, improve circulation and release tension in trigger point therapy. I’m most proud of the fact that I’m making a name for myself. People are always happier when they leave me.

I would love others to try me out. See what my business can offer that others can’t. It’s very personal, the care at Bodies By Body

Any big plans?
I plan on renting out a location soon for my massage table and chairs. As well as a small studio for stretching and corrective exercise.
