Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Hungerford.
Hi Holly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My story begins as a child realizing that I loveeee being a part of special moments with those I love. At a young age, I was a part of my older cousin’s wedding, and I can remember it being such a special experience. It combined my love of people and special moments in a really unique way. I got to see their insatiable joy as they embarked on a new and bright future, and I saw all the behind-the-scenes of creating the day they dreamed of. It took family creating items, organizing things, and planning surprises ahead of time.
Fast forward to college, and I started to receive invitations to be a part of my friends’ big days. It was such an honor, and I realized that being a part of this key moment was fun, but making it special for them and relieving any stress they had was a passion (Peep my Enneagram 2). I even planned a large surprise 25th anniversary for my parents that included a wedding of its own, a vow renewal.
As life progressed, I was on staff at churches and a part of organizations where my event planning skills were refined and given an opportunity to grow in a real way. Planning friend’s weddings and community events became a fun side hobby that I truly enjoyed when given the opportunity.
Enter August 2021, when I received an invitation to plan a wedding for a couple who were 2 weeks out from their date and needed a helping hand. I jumped in full force, and little did I know that a business would be birthed. What had been an occasional opportunity since college became a full-time focus.
Today, we have offices in Lakeland and Downtown Tampa and a staff that prides itself on serving couples well. We handle all the details of their day so they can be present and create lasting memories.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Handled by Holly has been an unexpected blessing. I have a church ministry background and have had to learn the business side of things while in the midst of it all. I’m so very thankful for my background because it makes my focus clear on serving the couple. Skills like balancing books and marketing can be taught, but each of our staff has a skill that is foundational and core to who we are, and that is a deep desire to serve others well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are an event planning company that specializes in weddings. We offer packages from Full Planning to our unique specialty. Day of Bridal Assistants (be sure to ask us about it!). We’re a woman-owned business and made up of a team of like-minded servants. At your event, you’ll find us decorating the venue, communicating with your guests, directing photos, and making sure you have your favorite beverage in hand. Our greatest desire and pride as a company is for you to feel insanely valued and cared for on your day.
