Rising Stars: Meet Laura Arderius

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Arderius.

Hi Laura, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Argentina. When I came to live in this country, I saw some wreaths on other people’s doors and they caught my attention because in my country they don’t exist. I bought one and decided to try and make them for myself. After having several wreaths, I began to give them away to my neighbors and later to sell them. I’ve been doing this for about 6 years, and today I have a small business and sell them through Etsy all around the globe.

I enjoy make them as they were for myself.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The process to create is really enjoyable, from buying to shipping, but the marketing and publicity is something that I am not familiar and takes a lot of time to take pictures and publish them everywhere

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make wreaths using the best quality of silk everlasting flowers. I take the time to choose symmetric bases and wrap them in order to avoid scratches on doors. I don’t sell a wreath that I would have in my own door (only if the color doesn’t match).

I started to make floral arrangements too as a second option. I only make small floral arrangements because the shipping costs for big boxes increases too much the final product but I can say that I specialize in wreaths. All of them are UNIQUE. There are no two of the same and are made only with flowers (not burlap wreaths)

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the community. The friendly people all around. I like the landscape and the beautiful scenes everywhere. I think wreaths are a great addition to give character to a front door and contribute to embellish the surroundings.

What I like least of my city is the daily rain but thanks to that the grass is as green as it can be.
