Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronique Pierre. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Roses without Thorns, Inc. was birthed in 2019 by Veronique Pierre’s own experiences with depression. Pierre’s first experienced the loss of her father at a very young age, followed by her sister’s murder when she was eight months pregnant, and a few years later – the final straw was the loss of her mother, which was unexpected.
One event after another, these events led her to suppress her grief to try to survive in a relationship where she pretended to be happy. That relationship came to an end when she could no longer pretend after becoming pregnant with her last child. As she navigated through the chaos of her life and the emotional impact the events had on her she realized it was time to reinvent herself, and that started with self-love. Putting her emotional well-being first, she had to end a toxic relationship with the love of her life. Despite that, Pierre’s struggle with these events and experiences has brought her to where she is today. Still a work in progress, she has reinvented herself and in a very healing way, has created a nonprofit organization to assist the community. The organization provides mental health awareness programs, information and resources, and events to increase self-care and self-love to the people across the globe that need it. Pierre is a huge mental health advocate where she published her first book, “The Strongest Woman in the World is You” and a t-shirt line, “Jesus+Therapy” to help raise awareness as much as possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has certainly been a bumpy road along the way as I balanced raising a family, working full-time, and managing my businesses. There have been so many challenges where I doubted myself, and out of fear, I just wanted to give up, especially when things do not go as planned. Then I realized the magic ingredients are having the right mindset, the right goal, and self-motivation. Perseverance is key! As a black female mompreneur, launching my business in 2019, right before the pandemic, has been a challenge and still is. Learning, adapting, and evolving are imperative in this business or any other business nowadays. Yet I turned my true passion into helping others to be my self-motivator. It has always been a priority for me to help others who deal with mental illness and distress through words of encouragement, support, and mentorship. Giving back is one of the most rewarding experiences. It helps you develop your leadership skills because you become more socially responsible, a team player, and have the ability to impact others. And because of resilience, I’m still thriving, winning awards such as this and making a huge impact locally and globally.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a proud founder of Roses without Thorns, Inc., a nonprofit organization to raises personal development/mental health awareness, and a certified Mental Health Advocate. Besides my nonprofit organization, I raise personal development through my t-shirt line called “Jesus+Therapy” and my book called “The Strongest Woman in World is You.” As a believer, I launched the T-shirt line “Jesus+Therapy because so many of us need more than just Jesus alone. I realized more and more to experience full deliverance and to increase our faith; we need to build a relationship with the creator Jesus Christ and invest in therapy.
One thing that sets me apart from others is that I’ve learned from my experiences and overcame the obstacles in my life, which helped to contribute to who today. How inner peace begins when we build a relationship with Christ through therapy. My book was my first intentionally published piece, and it’s a 21-day guide that helps cope with depression and anxiety. I want readers to understand that it’s okay to not be okay; just don’t live there. This book is an excellent tool to determine what strategies work best for your healing journey, and it’s available on Amazon nationwide.
Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Teamwork makes the dream work, right? There are countless ways to get involved with our organization, including sponsorship, volunteering, and being supportive.
