Rising Stars: Meet Anthony Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Thomas.

Hi Anthony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I’m from a small city in Florida called Bradenton. Near The Tampa area.

At the time, we didn’t really have much going on in West Florida. So, my senior year in High School after my graduation on the Fourth of July my older brother Nathaniel Porter called me and said he had a dreamed that me and a childhood friend of mine got killed, so to prevent this from happening (because it actually came true in regards to my friend) he brought me up to Orlando to attend college. I got into the hospitality and nightlife scene because of my sister Natalie Da’’Pooh and the natural feel I had for it. Then I never looked back.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
If you’re striving to be extraordinary, no matter how much game you’re given, there can never be a smooth road. There will always be a struggle, trial or tribulation to overcome because that’s what separates those who are mediocre from those who strive for greatness.

– I’ve lost friends who I thought I would never lose.

– I’ve had women steal from my safe.

– I’ve had OG’s try to play me like a fiddle and finesse me out of money…

– I’ve had women who I believed in a 100% tell me I couldn’t and wouldn’t be where I am today.

The list goes on, but I focus and use everything thing THEY said as fuel because when you come from nothing you have everything to gain. Ya know?

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
When people ask me what do I do necessarily, it’s always a hard question for me to answer. I try to never put myself in a box, ever. I think my specialty, though is being a connection or bridge for various people and various thing. I’ve developed a good reputation on being reliable for whatever someone or something could need. I believe in people and my network of friends and associates. I think the one thing I’m most proud of is the ability I picked up from my grandfather lowe, which is to be able to converse with anyone no matter their walk of life and also to see how I’m able to assist them no matter the objective.

To say I’m set apart from others to me is a tad bit overtop I think what I’ve learned from watching other people is we need to converse more and learn how to conduct proper dialogue and enjoy conversations more with each other.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The best pieces of advice I could ever give you are

1. You give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

2. It’s not always about who you know or what you know; it’s about who likes you.

3. Everyone is their own universe, including you, so never ever take this shit personal.

4. Logic Vs. Emotions ALWAYS

5. Don’t ever take advice, lol!
