Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Zook.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I’ve been artistic my whole life. It’s always been a part of who I am! I went to college for graphic design but quickly realized it wasn’t for me. However, it has partnered well with my photography business between marketing designs, branding, album work, and other design elements. I then went to college to study photography at “The International Academy of Design and Technology,” where I fell in love with it. I’ve been practicing in my field for over 12 years now. My introverted nature allows me to feel the emotion and connection with my clients, and I adore creating personal artwork for their homes that reflects their bonds. I’m so-so grateful that I can make a career out of it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting noticed in the photography industry is challenging, especially as an introvert. My ultimate struggle was calling my name to the right market.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your business.
As a luxury boutique photographer, I offer much more than just taking pictures. It’s about showing the personality of those I photograph. It’s about building relationships and providing an experience that goes above and beyond what most people are used to. What sets me apart from others is the quality of my work and the level of service I provide. I start with a consult to get to know you and your vision. Then I give the following:
- Hair and makeup services
- In-home design consultations
- Professional installation of finished galleries that we plan together from start to finish.
I also have a soft temperament that puts people at ease, which is essential for getting natural-looking photos. I provide a luxury photography experience that will exceed your expectations!
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is creating a living doing something you love! If I can make people feel unique about themselves, show that tired mom how gorgeous she still is by pampering and capturing her true beauty. If I can remind that family how lovingly their father looks at them and get those reminders in my client’s home so they can continue to walk past them every day, that is a success!
