Exploring Life & Business with Will Robinson of High Caliber Firearms Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Robinson.

Hi Will, we’d love for you to introduce yourself.
I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn new things. As the captain of my cross country and track teams in high school and college, it was often one of my jobs to help younger runners get acclimated to the program. After college, I was able to coach track and cross country for 5 years. During this time, I was fortunate to spend time teaching swimming and strength and conditioning. This was when I realized how much I loved teaching/coaching. When I relocated from Delaware to Florida, I became a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness. When that closed, I went into business as a full-time personal trainer. During my 10 years as a self-employed business owner, I often took my clients to the range as a group-building exercise. I moved back to Delaware for 5 years and decided to get certified as a firearms instructor. A coworker mentioned that a local range held pistol competitions, so I went. I could shoot, and by usual standards, I could. I found at the competition that there’s a whole other level of shooting that I wasn’t aware of. I was highly competitive, and getting beat up that badly pushed me to practice more often and with a distinct purpose. I recently moved back to Florida in May and am excited to share the lessons I’ve learned over the years. Teaching is my happy place.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been mostly smooth. The biggest struggle has been finding outdoor ranges that make it easy for instructors to teach students.

As you know, we’re big fans of High Caliber Firearms Training. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in helping people learn how to handle firearms more aggressively and efficiently. This includes teaching people how to be more effective at competition shooting. I teach both online and in person. I also travel to other cities/states to teach classes. My background as a track coach and personal trainer allows me to train movement patterns that have been scientifically proven to work. I am most proud of the student I’ve had who became responsible and knowledgeable gun owners. My classes are taught in a friendly, non-intimidating way. I also can create a custom class if your needs require it.
