Rising Stars: Meet Curtis Aldrich

Today we’d like to introduce you to Curtis Aldrich.

Hi Curtis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Drawing and painting have been my passions for as long as I can remember. I never knew that I wanted to become a Tattoo Artist until one of my close friends introduced me to a Tattoo Machine when I was around 20 years old. It felt like a natural attraction when I started practicing on synthetic skin. This was something I knew I would be doing for a long time. I spent a year trying to find an apprenticeship and finally landed one. It was unorthodox, but I was motivated and persistent, putting everything I earned and learned back into the craft. Fast forward to today, I specialize in bold illustrative tattoos and work by appointment only. I have been Tattooing for over 11 years now and still love it! I’ve met some incredible people along the way, and I am incredibly thankful for this journey I’ve been gifted with.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a complete walk in the park. After around year 3, I started to develop back pain that I am still dealing with to this day, along with occasional shooting pain down my hands and arms. Being a Tattoo Artist is also highly stressful, with the highest expectation from a vast audience. Tattoos are permanent, and people expect nothing but the best.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I have been a Tattoo Artist for over 11 years. I specialize in Bold Illustrative Tattoos; my color tattoos set me apart because of their rich saturation. I am proud of all my hard work getting me to where I am today, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
