Today we’d like to introduce you to Josie Mittleman.
Hi Josie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My partner Jeremy had his own mortgage and real estate company for over 20 years. He lost the company in the 2008 crash. I had worked in real estate myself as an independent contractor in 2006 and decided to leave the industry and pursue my career in Education Technology and building businesses. I met Jeremy in August of 2019, and he was struggling with being consumed by real estate. He couldn’t have an entire conversation without being interrupted by his ringing phone. We started dating, and I asked him if he wanted me to help him with real estate. I had tried to build a company and was regrouping from that failure. So I had some time on my hands. I started working beside him, running the real estate business in January 2020. Since he had a booming foreclosure arm to his business, we were lucky and kept super busy during Covid.
In January 2021, Jeremy introduced me to the Craig Proctor coaching system. The head coach, Todd Walters, showed us how we could build a scalable sellable business, and there was no stopping us. When I saw what the system had to offer, there was no holding me back. In August of 2022, after a lot of hard work, we opened Your Home Sold Guaranteed Realty with two locations, one in Orlando and the other in Palm Beach County. We have built a rock-star business with an inside sales agent team, an outside sales agent team, a customer support department, and a virtual assistant team. Craig and Todd taught us how to build a team, and by building a team, we could finally go on a holiday for a week without our phones. It was life-changing! We are continuing to build our business every day. We are continually working on adding benefits to our business to give our customers a one-stop-shop experience for all their home-buying needs.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road! I want someone to show me a business with a smooth road during the building phase! LOL! Our biggest challenge in building the business is having our existing real estate agents see the value in what we were trying to build. Our coach, Kristin Stampini, mentioned that our entire team would probably leave us while we were building the business. She was mostly right. Aside from two agents, the rest left us, and we needed to rebuild. They didn’t see the value in the Craig Proctor system. Still, Jeremy and I did, and we saw that people could become millionaires and have a scalable and sellable business if they followed the system and implemented it. And so we did! We found some great new people to join our team who believe in our values and vision and are excited to step up and help us build. Robert Santiago opened our office in the Orlando area and got his broker’s license to help us run the company. Dina Nehaitou joined our team and has had 42 closings since starting with us one year ago as a newbie real estate agent. There are growing pains, for sure. We find holes in the business every single day. But that is the challenge of being an entrepreneur, and that is how we draw our strength to keep moving the business forward. We are changing the lives not just of our customers but of every single person who works in our business. It’s a fantastic feeling, and Jeremy and I are very proud.
