Today we’d like to introduce you to Leira Pagan.
Hi Leira, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Wow, where should I start? I got married very young, at 19, and have been married for 22 years this May. We have 4 biological sons and our oldest, whom we were granted custody of when he was 12. We’ve also had a few other boys live with us on and off for several years. Whenever they needed, if they were going through a rough patch. My husband and I have had a basketball organization for many years, which put us on the path to helping teenage boys whenever we had the opportunity. Boys surrounded my life. It was beautiful chaos, but I wanted and needed something of my own, where it was about me, something only I loved and enjoyed. Something girly.! Although I loved helping all these boys, it took a lot of me. I tried back in 2007, I started Esthetician school, but I got pregnant with my second son and had to stop because I have terrible pregnancies and usually end up on bed rest. So I was disappointed at the moment, after that my life only got busier and I had even less time for things I wanted to do. 15 years later, and although I’ve had the privilege of raising 5 amazing boys and helping many families, I realized that somewhere along the way, I lost myself. I lost my identity, what filled me, what brought me fulfillment. I was living for everyone but myself. I had become so fearful of this world, and what world my children had to live in that I forgot all the great things it offers. However, I was terrified because I’m in my 40’s now.
I felt my brain no longer had the captivity to learn at a school level. I mustered all my strength and went back to school for the one thing that had always caught my attention. I didn’t stop; I finished esthetician school, and in the midst of that, I also got certified for permanent makeup and got my Florida Tattoo license. After I finished school and passed my state exam, I got certified in several other treatments and techniques and opened my Spa studio. The 5-year plan is to have my own Medical Spa and carry my product line. Every day I work towards that goal for myself, my boys, and every woman out there that feels like it’s too late. It’s never too late. And I named my Business Fearless Beauty and got a tattoo that says Fearless because all that means is that you do it anyway. No matter how scared you are!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Physical and financial. So many we are a big family with many responsibilities. It was tough to pay for school out of pocket while supporting a big household. Not to mention the strain it put on my husband and my kids to not have me as available as they were used to. And the financial sacrifice to buy all the equipment and products to start my business.

Fearless Beauty is a Spa studio that performs most aesthetic treatments, from facials, chemical peels, microneedling, and skin rejuvenation to body contouring treatments—cavitation, laser lipo, radio frequency, vacuum therapy, etc. I also do permanent makeup, LipBlush.
Before we go, can you share it with us?
I guess what I feel the most responsibility to say is, “Don’t give up on yourself!” Raising a family is a beautiful thing. Being a mom & a wife is a great responsibility, and it’s gratifying, but it’s also exhausting and can be debilitating if you don’t take time for yourself. You can not give to others if you’re empty yourself. Fill your cup first so you can have somewhere to pour out of. If your passion is only to raise your family, that’s great. Just make sure you take care of yourself, but if you had dreams and goals before being a mom and a wife, don’t turn your back on them, no matter how much time it’s passed, because you will never be completely fulfilled if that part of your life and your essence was left incomplete.
