Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Kelley.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I was raised in a Bible-believing Baptist home in a small Florida town. Although I always knew Jesus, there was a long period in my adult life where there was no evidence of Him. I was living a hard life. I partied, played, and drank to excess. During this time, I was divorced twice. My life eventually conformed to the world’s ways through a series of small sinful decisions. My relationship with God had eroded to a one-hour Sunday church service and no other contact with Him. During this time I met and married my wife Laura. She loved me despite myself! She prayed for God to convict me to change. She never nagged me to change. She prayed, loved on me, and “gave me” to God. That process inspired me to change. Soon, my new family and I were active members of a Christ-centered church.
In 2013, I came down with a severe infection in the bones of my left foot. During the infection treatment process, I learned every system in my entire body, and my brain was slowly shutting down, heading toward death. For 11 months, my life revolved around weekly blood tests and juggling appointments with 7 different medical specialists. This battle strengthened my faith in God. In September 2014, Pastor Jorge Figueroa invited me to attend a service at the Church of The Sower in Orlando, FL. Once the service concluded, I asked the pastors to pray for my healing. They prayed for me, and I was immediately completely healed! At this moment, I felt God tell me His desire for my life. Now, it is my passion to teach people about the immeasurable and unconditional love God has for all of us. I teach and encourage people to be the best versions of themselves; My life shows people how to love God and to love others.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My parents always taught me, “Anything worth having is worth working for!”. I attribute all of my success to the love and support of God and my gorgeous wife, Laura! The financial loss we’ve endured is trivial compared to my 11-month near-critical medical challenge and later a 9-month period where my immune system suddenly and completely shut down. There have been times when I was not able to be with my wife and family because I was working others, helping them have a better relationship with God. We as a family have learned to love others selflessly.
