Meet Dr. Roneisha Randall of BEthat!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Roneisha Randall.

Hi Dr. Roneisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Greetings, my name is Dr. Roneisha M. Randall and I greet you as a native from the “City Beautiful” Orlando, Florida. I’m the Creator and Founder of BEthat, an empowerment company that services youth, women, and professionals through motivational speaking, workshops, facilitation of training, and individual and group mentorship. In addition, to this, I’m also a veteran educator. I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I’ve always had a passion for seeing transformation in the lives of others.

I always knew I had a larger purpose in life that would impact others. I wasn’t sure how it would look or how it would happen. I just knew there was so much more to my journey—all our life experiences help build character, grit, and, most of all, perseverance. Perseverance is what has allowed me to get this far. At 16, I found my father unresponsive, and he later died in my arms. The loss of my father was life-changing for me. However, with support from my immediate family, church, community, and the entire village, I could navigate through life and still become successful. This is one of the main reasons I created BEthat; to be a light in the community and give others the support they need. During the pandemic, it was in the year 2020 that I began to realize what purpose resembled in my life. This was when God gave me this amazing vision to touch the lives of others through BEthat! BEthat was founded in 2020 in Orlando, Florida, amid the COVID-19 pandemic to empower and equip youth, women, and professionals and give them the tools, support, and resources they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally throughout life.

Would it have been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are several challenges when you’re new to something or starting a new business; however, I struggled most with time management. When you are new to entrepreneurship and passionate about your purpose, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of the journey. You have so much drive to be successful that you forget to take time for yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup. I had to learn to pull up from work and allow myself time to rest so I could still be effective and impactful in the lives of the people I serve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us more about your business.
The mission of BEthat is to empower and equip youth, women, and professionals to be Thriving, Hopeful, Affirming, and Transcending (hence the acronym for T.H.A.T.). I knew I wanted the abbreviation for my brand to have substance, be meaningful, and be memorable. I liked the brand to be more than a word but a movement or lifestyle. We aim to change the narrative of how individuals view themselves by encouraging them to be their authentic selves while helping them push through their adversities. Our workshops & training programs are offered face-to-face and virtually via groups to schools, churches, non-profit organizations, educators, and businesses that serve our target audience. One of the unique characteristics I possess is the fact that not only am I the Creator and Founder of BEthat; but I’m also an educator in the school system. Therefore, I know firsthand the issues plaguing youth, parents, and professionals. This experience has given me the ability to focus on a topic I’m very passionate about regarding youth, and that is social media etiquette. Much of the work done through BEthat is to educate youth and parents about the dangers of social media and what students and parents can do to turn the negative impact of social media into something positive. While this is one of many topics we offer for youth, it is certainly the most popular.

Motivational speaking is also a popular service and one that has become very rewarding. In addition to motivational speaking, one of the things I love about BEthat is the array of workshops and mentorship it offers. We have various workshops/training and mentorship for youth, women, and professionals. Our goal is to continue teaching youth, women, and professionals that in a world where you can be anything, choose B.E. Thriving, Hopeful, Affirming, and Transcending, choose to BEthat! Pouring into others is a gift, and I don’t take it lightly.

What does success mean to you?
Success is when a goal becomes an accomplishment. In other words, success is accomplishing the things we most desire. For me, this means encouraging one another, motivating someone not to give up, and believing for others what they may not see or believe for themselves.
