Today we’d like to introduce you to Kishawnie Henry.
Hi Kishawnie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally born and raised from St. Thomas Virgin Islands; I have always had a passion for creativity. I first started out writing rap songs and creating music after discovering my talent as an artist, but I always had a passion for fashion. I would dress fresh in the latest gear from head to toe, so I decided to create my own line and sell apparel.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in business is ever a smooth road; you have your ups and downs and challenges, so you have to leave room for disappointments. I would say my biggest struggle was finding a vendor that has the quality of product that I was satisfied with.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist with a creative spirit, I have a clothing website blaka blaka streetwear where I have apparel that cater to the Caribbean culture. I’m most proud my first book that I have written and published. It’s called Dark Paradise and you can also purchase it from the website. My authenticity and creative lane that I’m in sets me apart from others.
