Check Out Natalia Jade’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Jade.

Hi Natalia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My name is Natalia Jade and I am a Creative Director and Model.

For as long as I can remember I have walked into rooms and imagined the scenes I could create. Each color, texture, and shadow inspired a new layer to the scene in my head. At 18 I met a photographer by the name of Joseph Eldridge (@imperfectvisuals) who was the first to hear out my ideas, he had a much bigger following which helped introduce me to the local Orlando art scene and I appreciated that greatly. From our first shoot, the ball started rolling and I was shooting with Joseph and other friends every week.

As much as I had fallen in love with being in front of the camera, I fell even harder when I saw these moments I had painted in my head come to life. I had been location scouting, styling, and designing sets for years without even knowing it. Through modeling I had just finally found out what to call this process, creative direction.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I grew up in a very rural area. There was never any art community to collaborate with and I didn’t have social media for most of my teen years. I guess one of the biggest obstacles was finding my place and figuring out how to bring all the ideas in my head to life with very little to work with.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been modeling for 7 years and almost every single shoot in my portfolio has been creatively directed by me.

From scouting the locations, creating mood boards, styling, hair and makeup, on most occasions, it’s been me. Very thankful for the photographers and other artists who have seen my visions and been willing to help me create, I have a lot of love for everyone I’ve worked with.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share?
During Covid, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to move to Carolina, Puerto Rico. While the adjustment from living in the states to island life was different I was forced back to my roots and remember how to work with what I had because of how deeply the community in PR was affected by covid.

Locations were limited for public safety as was mail so ordering props and materials was a lot harder. Networking also wasn’t an option as there were no events being held. I’m thankful to have been forced to adjust my focus and appreciate what such a beautiful island had to offer
