Today we’d like to introduce you to Shepard Smith.
Hi Shepard, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I used to play outside and make silly videos with friends all through middle school. It was my freshman year of high school when I realized I can put this hobby to good use, use it to help others, and make money off of it. I then found myself in front of very successful business owners, interning with a marketing agency, and receiving advice from family and friends who work full-time in the business and marketing industries.
I then started to grow my own network and connect myself to local and international businesses creating successful marketing videos and helping these businesses to raise sales more than ever. I am currently working with The Lake County Sheriff’s Office, The Lake County Fair, Florida Pullers, and Pest Ref Services. I have recently had the opportunity to work with Lost Maples Productions on 2 full-length films as the lead visual effects artist. As a result of good work, I’m now preparing to work on their next film.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m only 17 years old, so I haven’t really had financially threatening experiences.
It took a while to get my business going. A lot of networking, a lot of meetings, a lot of hard work, and a lot of faith that it would work out. I’d say it’s been somewhat smooth other than that.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in digital marketing through video production.
Although I can do other types of video work, that’s the area I try to stay near the most. I intern with a marketing agency and several successful business owners. I use the tips and tricks I learn from them to then apply them to my own business and create successful marketing videos for companies all over the world!

Erin Johnson, owner of Concierge Media Solutions. I intern with her, and I learn everything about marketing from her, and her experiences at a marketing agency.
Derek Berge, owner of Giant Locator Map Company. Teaches me everything about networking, and marketing, and has even referred me to multiple companies, in which have been huge successes!
Gary Larson, owner of Wroxx, Eagles Wings, and Triad. A super good family friend! He’s given me several opportunities to do video marketing for his businesses, and continues to give me advice about owning a business, how to stand out from other businesses, gives me marketing tips, and teaches me everything I need to know about owning a business.
