Today we’d like to introduce you to Aileen Ariza.
Hi Aileen, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Aileen Ariza, I’m a Medical Esthetician and I’m from Colombia, I’ve been working in Esthetics for almost 13 years. Since I was little, I always liked taking care of myself and I always showed interest in everything related to skincare, including natural cosmetics. I always remember that when I came home from school, I liked to read the beauty books that my aunt kept.
I started in the field of aesthetics due to unexpected situations, which began in the year 2000 when my mother was going through a disease that caused her premature aging, causing her a strong depression which made me look for alternatives that would help me improve her appearance and restore her self-esteem. That was how I got to know the School run by Dr. Maria E. Ballestas in the city of Barranquilla Colombia. There I received my education in aesthetics and 2005 I graduated as a Medical Esthetician. After graduating I open my own room, which I ran successfully for 3 years, but my passion for my career pushed me to make my way as an instructor of the Esthetic program at Tecnicor Institute in the city of Barranquilla- Colombia. Then in 2019, I joined the Esthetics program at Florida Technical College.
I lived in Winter Park for the past 8 years. I and my husband have an amazing boy who motivates me to continue growing professionally. Motherhood is my greatest joy. In my free time I love to be active and spend time with family and friends.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, it has not been easy to get here, and even more so I decided to come to the United States. I knew that I would face a totally different world and the language barrier was one of the biggest obstacles for me.
I have always considered myself a woman who is not afraid of any and that is how I decided to study English for two years and then return to focus on my career. At first, it was not easy for me to find a place to start, but thanks to the fact that I never give up, I started as an assistant at a Chiropractic Doctor’s office. After that, I decided to update my aesthetics knowledge and that was I joined the Esthetics program at Florida Technical College. There I met Mrs. Deianna Preda, who, thanks to her passion for aesthetics, showed me the path that I should follow in the United States.
Thanks to her and the Florida Academy of Beauty today I can go back to doing what I enjoy so much, which is teaching aesthetics.
It was then that Amethys Pure Skin was born, a brand created for all those women who, like me, came to this country in search of dreams like an Esthetician. Amethyst Pure Skin is in charge of training other Beauticians in advanced treatments that allow them to continue growing as a professional. Although the road has not been easy here, working to make my brand known, and regardless of the time I will not give up until I see my dream come true.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m working as Instructor in the Esthetician Program at the Florida Academy of Beauty for the past 2 years. And I’m the owner of AmethysPureskin where I am in charge of offering advanced courses in aesthetics, for those professionals who want to continue growing in their profession.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Medical Esthetician in 2005 and my Master’s in Advance Esthetician Training in 2022. And I’d been practicing in the field of aesthetics since 2006.
My passion for helping others makes me listen carefully to your aesthetic goals to thoughtfully develop a treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to your naturally enhance beauty. As an Esthetician, I consider each client as an individual what his or her own unique needs and desires. I Stevie you fulfill those needs with the best talent available.
“YOUR APPEARANCE IS MY HIGHEST PRIORITY “. I specialize in Anti-aging treatments and my favorite procedures to perform are Microneedling, Dermaplaning, Chemical Peels, and Deep cleansing facials. But one of the things that I enjoy the most is teaching and transmitting to all those young women who come to me all the knowledge that I have without any kind of limit.
One of the things that set me apart from others in my role as an Instructor is that I like to go hand in hand with each of my students and work with them on their goals as professionals.
How do you define success?
For me defining the word success means fighting for your dreams, no matter how hard the road may be. It is falling and no matter how many times you fall, it is getting up with your eyes forward and continuing until you reach the end.
Success is searching within yourself for what gives you the motivation to persevere without forgetting the values that make you valuable and different from others. Believe in yourself and never stop fighting for what you want.
