Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Sung.
Hi Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I went to college and received my Bachelor’s in Nursing. I worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department at Advent Health for about 10 months before I decided to pursue my own venture outside of healthcare. I realized early on in school that I didn’t love the way healthcare is in today’s society, but didn’t think I would actually leave so soon.
I know it sounds crazy, but I completely went out on a whim to pursue what I currently do, which is called “funnel design.” The way this happened is I was scrolling on Instagram while I was actually in the Bahamas with another friend, who I was telling at the time that I wanted to pursue entrepreneurship. Right when I said that, I came across an Instagram reel of a female who I had been following for a couple of years, posting about a way to make $10k a month online, I immediately messaged her and watched the 45-minute video they had about it, then booked a call to speak with someone.
I didn’t fully grasp the idea of what a funnel was even on the sales call with their team member, but I felt in my heart it was the right calling for me. So I invested in their online course and coaching and immediately the following day, I drove to my work to give my four weeks advance notice of leave. All of my coworkers thought I was crazy but I didn’t think twice about it. It felt like it was the exact path I needed for my goals!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. But I am very much a believer in a positive attitude, being grateful, and manifestation. I believe that if I live my life in gratitude for even the small things, opportunities will fall into my lap at the perfect time, and that has truly been happening for me.
It has been almost a full year since I made this decision. At first, it was obviously a little scary because I only had a couple of thousand dollars in my bank account and I had quit my nursing job. For most people, that would be the scariest thing because there’s technically no “security” or “safety net” financially with the decision I made. However, it was the best decision for me because I was able to put all my time and effort into the new course I invested in and into making it work for me. If I stayed nursing, I would have been distracted and exhausted. It forced me to make it work with my back against the wall, which was great.
I did take a small detour when I first started because I got invited by the course creator of funnel designer to actually be a sales representative for their team out of nowhere. So I learned sales and took sales calls for three months in the summer of 2022. I eventually left that to continue pursuing funnel design which gave me more freedom and was what I initially intended to do anyways. Getting clients was not initially easy and of course, I have worked with some people who were not the best clients in terms of communication and being very demanding, but overall it has been an amazing experience.
We’ve been impressed with JS Origins, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the sole owner of JS Origins. My business consists of myself and is fully online. I am a funnel designer. I also go by “conversion designer”.
Basically what I do, is help fix or design online strategies for other business owners. I build out their entire funnel, websites, automation, email marketing sequences, and so much more. Funnels are different than websites because funnels are built specifically for conversions of sales. Websites don’t always have the same purpose. That is how I explain it to people. A funnel is also the name of the entire sales process a potential customer goes through before they buy all the way until they actually buy.
My normal clientele is online coaches of any niche, but I’ve expanded into helping anyone that is in the online space and struggling on getting clients and sales. I have worked with life coaches, fitness coaches, celebrity vocal coaches, and even a TouchDesigner company that focuses on artistic creations for large-scale theaters and stages.
Something that is important to know is that I custom-make all of my funnels to truly embody the brands I work with, so there is no “copy and paste” kind of feeling like with other designers. And everything I advise my clients is something I can provide. My business is not a “Tell you to do” business.
I will tell you what you need and then I will do it FOR you and explain what I am doing so my clients understand the importance of my work and why they need it. Many people just “coach” other entrepreneurs without doing the work for them.
What does success mean to you?
I believe the definition of success is very subjective. It is all perception based. I define success as “the accomplishment of succeeding in decisions that keep you at peace with yourself”
My explanation for this is that I see small successes and big successes too. The small accomplishments that I achieve are considered success to me because it’s continuing to push me in the right direction toward the person I want to be and the impact I would like to make.
There is no “one success” as most people see it. There’s always room for improvement. But making decisions that keep me at peace is the best decision.
