Meet Johanna Jáquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Johanna Jáquez.

Hi Johanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Johanna Jáquez, I can say that I am a Dominican Latina who has come a long way through her hard effort and constant work. I am a mother, wife, daughter, and granddaughter, since I was a child I saw my parents work hard to get far and give me a stable life and this caught my attention so I decided one day to fight for me and my family, I went from being a saleswoman in a food store in my country to being a masseuse, then to selling punch to have extra money.

But in reality, this was not what I was in love with, I knew that within me there was a talent that should explode, and that’s when I decided to do my first beauty course specifically the eyebrow microblading technique, but this was not enough for me, there was something that still didn’t fill me.

And this was that I personally had gone through a very strong process in my life, and I felt the need to help and support women to get ahead by beautifying others and being monetarily free so that these women were not humiliated by people around them as one day I was. And from there comes PCES INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY, a beauty academy that is responsible for training women with a desire to get ahead in the world of beauty and internationally.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My struggles were with myself, there were moments when I let myself go of those that others saw of me and believed and not of who I myself knew I was, among these was my self-esteem, and many times I felt unable to achieve what I have built today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an international master of eyebrow micropigmentation, I train women around the world so that they are able to undertake in a dignified way, I differentiate myself by my charisma, by my responsibility towards my students and colleagues, and by taking this to countries outside mine in a legal way.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I care that my girls feel good and proud of themselves but even more important to me that the day I am not here they remember me with love and pride that it was me who helped them in this area.
