Inspiring Conversations with Holly Ecimovic of Edge Home Finance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Ecimovic.

Hi Holly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Holly Ecimovic, NMLS #2396592. I’m a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator, currently working as a Loan Processor & Loan Officer Assistant for Edge Home Finance. My husband, Kiel Ecimovic, is also a loan officer for Edge, and we work out of Longwood, Florida. I became a part of the Edge team in mid-September of 2022, and before that, I worked at Contemporary Mortgage Services, Inc. in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Helping people finance their homes is a dream job for me. I can relate to everything that a first-time home buyer goes through — when my husband and I moved to Orlando in 2015, we were newly married, knew nobody, and bought a home after living in a motel for several months.

At the time, I was in a totally different career, but that journey we experienced on our way to choosing and purchasing the perfect home for us — that experience, I believe, truly set me on a path to eventually end up working to really dive in and help people who are getting into homes! (And here I am, now, at Edge!) I know what it’s like to feel like you’re “risking it all” — my husband and I only had about $17 to our name after our home purchase.

But dreams do come true, you CAN build things back up, and there is something special about being a homeowner and beginning that path to building wealth for your family. I’d like to say I am a living testimony that surely anything is possible — even when you think it is not! I hope my story can inspire people to do big things, even if they’re scared.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a husband and wife lending team, we have realized that one way to truly connect with the community and network and meet people is through giving back.

Something can be said about the power of connection through service. That is how we have met a lot of people who are close to us; our friends; and people with whom we do business. We moved to Florida from Virginia, and we have met so many wonderful people here in Florida!

What do I mean by this? Back in December 2022, my loan officer husband and I decided to create what we call the Random Acts of Kindness Events. This is where, twice per month, we gather together as a group and go do a good deed.

What we do: In the past, we have donated supply boxes to pet shelters; delivered lunch to first responders; donated clothing to The Mustard Seed of Central Florida; and written letters and delivered them to the elderly. We choose a place local to Orlando, and spread joy there! Bring your ideas!

Our first event we did was when we created pet supply boxes for animals in need. This was in memory of our beloved Australian Shepherd, Browning, who died in March 2021 at the age of 12. That’s how our first event was born.

What people bring: We bring about $5 – $10 to donate toward our cause, and then we create the Kindness Delivery that we are giving out. We ask that people bring their joy and enthusiasm!

How to get involved: Use the Schedule Link to sign up: HollyEcimovicMortgage.com/KindnessEvents. Kiel and I contact you to discuss the details. You are encouraged to bring other professionals local to the Central Florida area. Encourage them to also use the signup link. We usually do this every other Friday, but check the schedule to make sure.

Sign up for our Random Acts of Kindness Events, here! https://www.hollyecimovicmortgage.com/kindnessevents

Join us as we give back to the community while networking! This is a great way to get outside your comfort zone while meeting your networking goals. Meeting people does not have to be a struggle!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was sitting in the huge, draping tree branches near my house that were seemingly nature-made hammocks, reading a book, and feeling like I was literally living in a photograph out of The Bridge to Terabithia or some other whimsical dream world from my imagination. Where dreams are born!
