Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Perez.
Hi Eddie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I got started with my foodie page because I would often get asked where are good places to go for a drink or a bite to eat. I had an IG page that had some foodie posts but mostly personal and family posts.
So I created a foodie page to have a dedicated place to send others looking for recommendations to local places. I had no idea there was such a large and cool community of other foodies. Little by little, I started to meet other foodies by going to events and restaurant openings. Joining Yelp and becoming a Yelp elite helped me a lot as well.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been smooth but it has been a fun journey. Some of the struggles were the ever-changing trends of social media. When I started pictures were key. The reels were added and I had to transition from editing pictures to editing video clips.
So there is always something new to learn. Another struggle early on was being consistent and posting content often.
It is a lot of work to drive out to a place, take a lot of pictures and videos and then go home to select the right content to edit and publish.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve invested in myself and this passion I have as an influencer. I recently upgraded my camera equipment and have started making high-quality videos. I keep getting positive feedback on my videos which make my day. There are not many in the community who use thousand-dollar cameras so I think that’s one thing that sets me apart.
And even though I’m an introvert and quiet I like to think I am friendly and treat others with respect. This can be a very competitive community but I am always cheering on others and happy when I see my other foodie influencers doing well.
Any big plans?
My goal for the future is to continue to grow my following. I want to be known as a resource to find local good eats. I won Yelps Taco Trailblazer recently.
I got to travel to Vegas for the first time to try tacos there. I would love to travel more in the future to not only show local spots in Orlando but also cool and unique places all over.
