Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Johnson.
Hi Marie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
During the height of Covid, I took an assignment in California to help administer vaccinations. Before returning to Florida, my daughter had perfected her love for frying chicken wings and making different sauces. When I returned to Florida, she was selling chicken out of her house faster than she could purchase it.
I started assisting her and saw her passion and love for selling “The freshest chicken in Brevard” and knew we needed to go into business. I invested in a food trailer and here we are a year later with a large following and being requested to serve our wings at events from west palm Beach to Jacksonville.
We specialize in serving the freshest cooked-to-order wings as well as great customer service. We take pride in serving fresh cooked-to-order wings and believe in our motto “It’s better when it’s fresh”.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being an all-African American female food truck has had its obstacles, from being stuck in the dirt to removing the generator to exchange it out. But by God’s grace, we handled it all.
How do you define success?
Success is not measured by the material things you obtain but by the state of happiness and joy, you get out of serving others. It’s learning from your failures but never giving up despite your obstacles.
