After getting married in 2018, Fabio a 41-year-old mechanic, and Monique a 37 years old hairdresser decided to start saving money for their dream business, which could be either a hair salon or a mechanic shop. They prayed to God, asking for guidance and letting Him decide which opportunity would come first. As fate would have it, they found the perfect location for a hair salon, and with Monique’s 13 years of experience as a hairdresser and her loyal clients who had followed her throughout her career, they were confident in their decision to venture into the haircare industry and make their dream of owning a hair salon a reality.
After months of meticulous planning and researching the market, they were expecting the building to be ready by the end of 2019, but then Covid hit and the plans had to be delayed. Toshi and Monique finally opened the doors of Moshi Salon in March 2023. The salon’s name “Moshi” was a fusion of their names, Monique and Toshi, symbolizing their partnership and shared commitment to their business.
Moshi Salon quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional service and cutting-edge haircare techniques. Toshi’s business acumen combined with Monique’s creativity and expertise in hair styling proved to be a winning combination. The salon offered a wide range of services, including haircuts, hair coloring, highlights, and styling for both men and women.
The couple’s warm and welcoming personalities, coupled with their dedication to customer satisfaction, earned them a loyal client base. Word-of-mouth referrals spread, and Moshi Salon soon became a popular destination for those seeking professional and trendy hair care in Ocoee and the surrounding areas.
Looking back on their journey, Toshi and Monique take pride in the success of Moshi Salon. Their hard work, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit have transformed their dream into a reality. They are grateful for the support of their loyal clientele, dedicated team, and the Ocoee community.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Be humble and listen to everybody but the best mentor is God. To have faith is a must.
