I have always had a love and passion for photography. Whenever there was an event, I was the one who eagerly volunteered to capture precious moments through photos. My photography journey began in 2016 when I worked as an intern. During this time, I learned how to shoot weddings and events, and I immediately fell in love with the art of photography. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic started, the company I was freelancing for had to let us go. Instead of being discouraged, I saw this as an opportunity to pursue my path. I decided to establish my own business, and that’s when Courtney Rose Photography was born. Since then, I have been running Courtney Rose Photography, using my passion and skills to create beautiful, meaningful imagery. It has been an incredible journey, and I feel grateful to be able to do what I love every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running your own business comes with its unique set of challenges, and one of them is navigating through slow seasons when work opportunities may be scarce. During these off-seasons, I utilize my expertise in various other forms of photography. I must stay proactive and keep myself updated on the latest trends and techniques to keep my skills sharp. In addition to offering my photography services, I invest time and effort into taking classes and attending workshops. These learning experiences provide valuable knowledge and offer networking opportunities and exposure to fresh perspectives. I believe continuous learning is crucial for personal growth and staying competitive in the dynamic field of photography. During the slower periods, I use my creativity to explore new areas of photography, experimenting with different genres and styles. Diversifying my portfolio not only keeps me engaged but also opens up new avenues for potential clients and projects in the future. While navigating the fluctuations in demand for my services can be challenging, these periods are opportunities for self-improvement and exploration. By staying committed to honing my craft and adapting to changing circumstances, I am confident in overcoming any hurdles that come my way and ensuring the long-term success of Courtney Rose Photography.

Starting my business during the challenges of COVID-19 was tough, but I’ve overcome those hurdles. Now, in Orlando, I’m excited to start anew, forge fresh connections, and maintain my existing relationships. I attend local networking events, collaborate with professionals, and stay active online. I aim to establish a strong presence in Orlando’s photography scene by engaging with the community and delivering quality work.
