Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeny Roc.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a photographer, even though, looking back, I wonder how I missed it. I was always obsessed with taking photos growing up, but It wasn’t until I had my first child that it sparked a passion. I borrowed my first DSLR camera from my sister-in-law to document my daughter’s growth. It felt like magic, and I was instantly hooked. I started photographing families as a side hustle, never thinking I could make it a full-time career. When COVID hit, I was let go of my job, pushing me to take the risk of going full-time. It was a blessing in disguise, and I never looked back.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. Being a small business owner today can be challenging, and sometimes you want to give up. Some of the struggles would consist of the inconsistency in feeling financially secure. Learning to balance the seasons is key. Some of my other struggles are likely the same as most photographers—imposter syndrome, comparison, and balancing motherhood.
We’ve been impressed with Jeny Roc Photography, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart?
I am a Wedding and Family photographer in Orlando, Florida. I travel wherever love takes me! I specialize in Couples and Families. I’m known for my editing style, Vibrant, Rich, bold, and Bold+Colorful. I love capturing the unseen, messy, and perfectly imperfect photos you never knew you wanted. I live for those passionate, raw storytelling moments. I take a documentary approach to my work; My style is candid, and my focus is authentic connection through my images. When you book with me, my priority is to capture the connection between you and your loved ones and to leave you with timeless, meaningful memories you will cherish forever. I’m not here to create your story; I’m here to help you tell it. What sets me apart from most is my attention to detail and communication with my clients. I am so very proud of the brand I have created because of all the trials and errors it took to get here. I have made many mistakes along the way, and seeing how far I’ve come in just a short amount of time makes me feel like I could do anything that I put my mind to. What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
With the power of Al growing and technology constantly advancing, we can expect many changes in how we handle the backend of it all—making our jobs easier and allowing us photographers to do more work with less pressure.
