Today we’d like to introduce you to Elliana Vatel.
Hi, Elliana. Can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Elle (he/him) is 23 years old but has only been living in Florida for 20 years. I am a black queer neurodivergent nonbinary activist and professional body modifier in piercings and inspirationalist. I’ve been through traumatic events throughout both my childhood and young adulthood, unfortunately, like homelessness, involuntary hospitalization, and addiction; yet I’ve not only survived, but now I do more to thrive for myself and my community. I have matured and achieved many personal accomplishments: being featured on my Instagram homepage, gaining trust and respect from my mutual audience online, perfecting my career skillsets, and attempting to create my own small business.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I am disabled, but that does not stop me from eventually consistently achieving what I want. Mental health has been the most challenging overall journey I’ve taken for healing and becoming more aware of our reality. My physical disabilities, along with my mental ones, are what truly help me communicate and even understand what others may need to hear and feel for themselves. I feel like I’ve had all kinds of the weirdest forms of worst trauma I consistently received during my youth, but that is what helps translate my reality.to others in ways of empathy and compassion.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional body piercer of 4 years now; I take pride in my customer service, precision for individualistic satisfaction, and years of textbook and hands-on experience in not only administering piercings on clients but also piercing my face, ears, and body, genitals even, and, most notably taking pride in my diligence of a sterile, safe, calm environment for both myself and the client. I have worked with other magazines on Instagram and even YouTube in my former days as a teen and young adult.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I want to clean this earth. I want to see more greens, blues, browns, and rainbows. Over the past 5 to 10 years, pollution and the outdoor areas of nature have become polluted and systematically uninformed to fit a bland, oppressive aura for our society. The oppressors are systematically ruining large-scale systems of nature. At the same time, the typical person is forced to work and barely survive in a grey, dull world, and I want to stop that dystopian future as much as possible. Complacency is a curse.
