Check Out Vanessa Belliard’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Belliard.

Vanessa Belliard

Hi Vanessa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I attended a Technical Vocational High School (Madison Park) in Boston, MA, in my teen years & my area of interest was Culinary Arts. I could attend school for one week and work at a Catering Company, Gourmet Caterers, as a helper in the Pastry Department. At only 19 years old, I was promoted to Assistant Pastry Chef & at age 20-21 Head Pastry Chef. I worked for Gourmet for 13 years; I learned much, met many people & mastered my skills. I became a Mom at age 19 of a fantastic Autistic Son who is now 16; over the years, I had a second son & lastly, a daughter. So, being a Head Chef & a Mom of three was becoming super challenging for me; that’s when I decided to create what is now V’s Catering, my own small business. My Family, close friends & my Amazing husband have been a huge part of this journey. It’s been 7 years, and 5 of those years have been here in Orlando, FL. It has been a roller coaster ride, but God has been my assistant. At age 37, I have come a long way, but there is always room to continue learning.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been relatively smooth so far?

Anything worth having is complicated. But with consistency & hard work, it is all possible. Giving up has often been an option, but the love for what I can create makes everything worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in custom buttercream cakes & treats. There are many fabulous bakers in my area, but for my loyal clients, I am “The best baker,” & that motivates me. By the way, my Tres Leches cake is trendy, lol. What sets me apart is the attention to detail, simplicity, and overall customer service. I am proud of how far I have come. I can’t wait to learn more every day.

Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
Meeting other amazing bakers in my area has helped me alot. There is no competition between us; we can learn from each other, which is truly unique.
