Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacrecia Radford.

Lacrecia Radford

Hi Lacrecia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello, my name is Lacrecia. I am a mother and provide Microshading, a semi-permanent cosmetic eyebrow tattoo, for women from many walks of life who struggle to keep up with their daily beauty needs. Waking up to perfect eyebrows every day is an investment. I’ve been doing permanent makeup for almost 3 years and have fallen deeply in love with it. I’ve been in the beauty industry for many years as a braider but found my new passion in doing eyebrows. I also spend my time giving back to the community. Every year, I host a Barbecue in the Park for the Homeless. This is where we come together as one and show the unfailing love of Jesus Christ to others without limits. I’m also the author of the book Life Behind the Pole. It’s an autobiography of my previous life as a stripper before surrendering my life to Jesus. Now, I live out my life in a way that others will come to know that Jesus loves them and that He fixes broken pieces. I am honored to serve the Orlando area and hope to continue to grow.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has most definitely been a challenging road. One of my biggest struggles was marketing to get new clients. When transitioning from braiding hair to doing Microshading, I thought getting the clientele would be easy because I already had an extensive clientele from braids. However, these are two completely different services, so I had to build a new clientele for my new service. I’ve learned to appreciate the small steps in building my business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to be more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a semi-permanent makeup artist. I provide naturally beautiful semi-permanent eyebrows to women of many different facets of life. I’m known for alot of things. One is my love for Jesus because when I was lost in a world as a stripper, He rescued me, and I’ve never been the same since. I wrote a book titled Life Behind the Pole to let others in on my love story. I want other women who struggle in that lifestyle to know that Jesus loves strippers too and that one encounter with Him will change your whole story. I also host a Barbecue in the Park for the Homeless every year. It’s an event I put together to provide a fun, good, loving environment for the people God loves. I am most proud of where I am currently in life. We can all complain about something we’re facing, but there’s beauty in looking back and seeing where God has brought you from. I’m grateful that I didn’t give up all the times that I wanted to. I’m most proud of my children and the young men they are growing into becoming. What sets me apart from others is knowing I was created to be different and walking in the fullness of who God made me to be while allowing space for His light to shine through me.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is when I met my father at 18. I had longed to know him for many years, and 20 years later, I understand him and have a great relationship with him.
