Hi, Taylor and Tanner; we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Me and My sister had the idea to start fantasy feelings when we were on a Disney Trip together! I had been a cast member before, and we had been going to Disney as a family for years. I began having sad seizures while I was a cast member and had to quit and come home and attempt to control them! So when Tanner and I decided to begin making clothes, it was a way to return to the magic. So we started in a spare bedroom, and for about 6 months, we just started making clothes. Through a lot of trial and error, we figured out what we liked and what we wanted! So, one day, we got brave and posted about it! Several key moments made fantasy feelings what it is!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing truly worth having is a smooth road- especially in business! One major obstacle has been my epilepsy; it’s something I battle with every day! I have medication-resistant epilepsy, so it’s been difficult to balance at times! My health is directly related to fantasy feelings because it’s what made it possible to start fantasy feelings to begin with; however, when I’m sick, it affects the dynamic! With this business, style is ever-changing, trends are coming and going, and staying ahead and innovating is a priority! There is a huge learning curve for clothes and figuring out the perfect groove for fantasy feelings while staying popular with trends and true to our brand! We are two sisters who are very talented in different ways and have strong opinions, so if you have siblings, it’s not always the easiest, but no one will support you unwaveringly like your sister! Where we are now is the most united and strongest we’ve ever been!
As you know, we’re big fans of Fantasy Feelings. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
- We created Recycled Feelings. It is where we would take a vintage Disney or Star Wars shirt, split it in half, and sew it with one of our designs!
- Our style! We create a different style that people long for! Sometimes edgy, sometimes sports-inspired, but an overall elevated mature look to still represent the magic!
- Our passion for creating clothes that people will wear for years is unmatched. We are passionate about what we do and building a community and place for people to come and always get reliable pieces of magic.
