Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie McGinnis.
Hi Katie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in the title insurance industry at a young age and decided to get my title insurance license a few years after working there. After working for someone for several years, I decided to open my own company. I started a prior company in 2018 and sold my interest in opening a New Beginnings Title Company in 2020 to venture out independently. Starting over from the beginning was difficult in 2020; however, I kept going. Today, we have 4 locations and 12 employees, growing like crazy! Starting a company alone was the most difficult challenge I have experienced and the most rewarding!
Let’s dig deeper into the story – has it been an easy path, and if not, what challenges have you overcome?
No! My biggest challenge was marketing a company when we could not interact with others in person! Standing out among hundreds of other title companies was another struggle, and I needed more time for my personal life.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At NBT, we specialize in investor transactions. We know all the ins and outs of closing on an investor transaction. This sets us apart from all the other title companies who avoid this transaction due to the amount of work and due diligence that goes into them. We also close on traditional transactions as well as commercial closings. Overall, we are most proud of the team behind NBT and their work in every transaction. From a $10K to a $1 Million transaction, we treat all clients the same, and once you contact us for work, we treat you as family. The staff at NBT is a family environment; we truly believe in this and provide the best service possible. After all, we are in Orlando, which is a service-based community.
Have you learned any exciting or essential lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
Yes! I learned never to put all my eggs in one basket and to always think outside the box regarding marketing and obtaining new clients.
