Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My love for makeup started back in college. I started experimenting with makeup and fell in love with it. I was a broke college student so that I couldn’t afford expensive name-brand makeup, so I started looking into affordable, high-quality makeup. Shortly after graduating, I started a YouTube channel to pursue my love for makeup, but I needed to figure out where to start. Soon after that, TikTok came out, and my boyfriend encouraged me to post about my love for makeup there. I began posting videos of almost everything and anything, and one video of my boyfriend and me doing a makeup transition went viral. I decided to pursue TikTok and social media full-time. The road to success has yet to be smooth. I’ve had countless setbacks, failures, and moments of doubt. Today, as I reflect on my journey, I’m filled with pride and gratitude for how far I’ve come! It’s been a rollercoaster ride of growth, learning, and self-discovery, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been far from smooth. I was never an “overnight” success, and I still have many goals I need to reach before I am content. I started posting 3-5 times a day with absolutely no recognition. I would get 200 views or less without receiving any payment or product. I posted consistently for about 3 years for nothing in exchange all while working full-time. I would have given up so many times if it hadn’t been for my boyfriend to believe in me and tell me it would all be worth it one day. Sometimes, you need someone to believe in you before you believe in yourself, and I’m so thankful he did!

I am a beauty content creator/influencer. I create YouTube videos, TikTok videos, and Instagram reels. I post about all things makeup, recommend products, de-influence products, and everything in between. I’m most known for providing makeup dupes for high-end products and affordable alternatives. What truly sets me apart is my commitment to authenticity. I remain unfiltered in my photos and videos in an age of filters and illusions. My audience trusts me because of this, and I have built a genuine connection with my audience. I will never recommend a product I don’t like, and I won’t sign brand deals I don’t believe in. I also want to think I’m funny and never take anything too seriously.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as building and growing in your personal life and career. True success is feeling fulfilled, positively impacting the world, and loving yourself and your support system around you.
