For years, McKenzie had the idea to create a business embodying who she is professionally and tap into her life personally. McKenzie’s passion for the jewelry industry comes naturally. From a young age, McKenzie grew up helping her great-grandmother in and around her family’s fine jewelry store, Hubbards Jewelry. Hubbards Jewelry was founded in 1950 by McKenzie’s great-grandfather and grandmother, Bryan and Marie Hubbard. Hubbard’s is located in small-town Dexter, MO, and is still going strong today, 73 years later. Headline by MM combines McKenzie’s love for fashion, her family, and being on-screen. As a working on-camera host seen on international television for almost a decade, McKenzie knows what it takes to stand out and believes that a lot of our confidence comes from how we present ourselves. Headline by MM is designed to express individuality and uniqueness, and the pieces selected for our collections can be dressed up or down. All pieces are at the forefront of fashion with a classic twist. Some of Headline by MM’s pieces originate from Hubbards Jewelry and will be given back to our small family business.

Of course not! There are many obstacles to hurdle when you are a creative designer, social media manager, owner, or founder—the list goes on. It seems like something always ends up falling through the cracks, but when you see the success of people loving a product or giving you credit for your hard work, it makes it all worth it.

I often get told that people want to start a business but need help knowing where to start! My best advice is to conquer one little thing a day, and eventually, you’ll be in a place where your vision is clear. Finding a name you love is most important (and make sure you trademark it so you don’t run into issues down the road), and once you have your name, you can hone in on your brand and craft from there.
