Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Schafer.
Hi Mike, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Celebration, Florida, after retiring from the Memphis Police Department after nearly two decades of service. I moved to Celebration due to my love of Disney World. At that time, I decided to obtain my real estate license and join Keller Williams Realty at the Lakes while continuing to serve in the Army National Guard, where I retired in 2018 after 20 years of service. Since joining Keller Williams, I have focused on the entire central Florida region, with attention paid to sellers, buyers, and investors. During this time, I was successful in becoming part of the top 2% of my brokerage of over 200 agents. I also served 4 years on the Keller Williams Agent Leadership Council, similar to a board of directors for the brokerage.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It could have been smoother. Real estate has its ups and downs. I have found that persistence is the key to success, especially when obstacles appear. The more “no’s” I encounter, the more “yes’’ I receive.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in residential real estate. My office is located in Celebration, Florida, and Huntsville, Alabama. I work with sellers, buyers, and also investors. Regarding my brand, “the 9 Line Group” comes from the military term “Nine Line Report. “ I’m proud of my military and law enforcement service and simply wanted to show my support for Veterans and the law enforcement community. My statement is, “I believe in protecting families through homeownership.”
How do you define success?
Success is when my clients smile at the closing table, and past clients refer future clients, solidifying a job well done. Success also involves developing friendships with clients, which has occurred many times. It’s all about building relationships.
