Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Morris.
Hi Kimberly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Kimberly, a cheerful digital illustrator, designer, and PreK special education teacher. My passion is teaching tiny humans, inspiring others, and creating. When I am not with the small humans, my heart and energy are in running this little business. I started Miss Kimmy’s Kreations in 2020 to spread positivity and creativity. While I was navigating teaching three to five-year-olds on Zoom. I created digital resources to use with my students, which turned into selling them on TpT, a marketplace for individuals to buy resources to use in and out of the classroom. In the search for self-growth, a season of uncertainty, and a gift of extra time, I began to design apparel and hand-making stickers, which inspired me to open my Etsy shop! I always doodled as a kid so I could turn my designs into products such as stickers, apparel, drinkware, stationery, and more. I am truly living out my dream of creating and spreading positivity to others!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While I was in my first year of college, I lost my grandmother and my father. It hasn’t been easy, but I know they are both by my side, pushing me forward. I get my inspiration from positive and uplifting moments and words. When we focus on the beauty positivity brings, we experience life better and more radiantly.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a PreK Special Education Teacher. My classroom mantra carries the value of Miss Kimmy’s Kreations: Learning is a lifelong journey. I have been in the classroom and working with children for many years. My true passion lies in not only teaching but learning. Celebrating diverse learners is so much more important, and being a special education teacher is a highlight of my being. It brings me so much peace and love. Some days are more complex than others, but seeing my students grow and progress in so many ways is truly the best feeling! I also have a niece who has Autism, which has influenced who I am today as her auntie and educator. I am so grateful love brought her into this world. I strive to embrace all of the uniqueness in the world because of her! I reflect on how my heart sees, feels, and absorbs the world’s beauty.
What’s next?
2023 was a big year for me in my personal life! My husband and I married in June and bought a house in October. We plan to do some traveling this summer, and we are super excited about it. Shortly, we look forward to expanding our family! Some plans for Miss Kimmy’s Kreations are launching new products in the shop and doing some pop-up shops in Orlando!
