Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Dean.

Brandi Dean

Hi Brandi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When my first son was born, I had issues producing breast milk for him. So he was put on baby formula. He had the most challenging time with formula and would constantly spit it back up, even after being put into several different types of formula. In 2011, my husband and I discovered we were expecting our second child. I was worried if I would be able to provide enough milk for our child and if they, too, would get sick on formula. After doing a lot of research on formula, goat’s milk came up as an alternative. I talked about it to my pediatrician and husband, and we purchased our first dairy goat, Plymouth, in 2011. We started milking her for milk to drink and make cheese for our family. Our second child was born in 2012; I breastfed him but felt as though he wasn’t content or full. He was always irritable.

So, one day, I supplemented him with fresh goat milk; he was full and happy after his first bottle. We continued to supplement him with goat milk until he was 2. After a year, we had a lot of extra milk, so I researched what we could do with it. Goat milk soap showed up on the search bar. I read about the many benefits that goat milk has, such as nutrients, minerals, proteins, acids, and enzymes that help nourish and revitalize skin. It was also great at soothing eczema, psoriasis, acne, and dry skin naturally after much research and practice. I taught myself how to make my goat milk soap. I shared my soaps with family and friends, and they loved them so much that we decided to start selling them. 11 years later, we now own a 10-acre farm, 13 dairy goats, and homeschool our 4 exceptional children, Hunter, Junior, Wyatt, and Savannah. We wouldn’t be where we are today without God and my amazing husband, Ricky, who supported all my crazy ideas.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth road. We came to a point in life where we needed a home that had land for our goats. Our options were to stop making soap with our goat’s milk or purchase land. We prayed and searched for land for over a year until a friend told us about 10 acres of untouched land for sale at a great price. We saw it and fell in love. So we purchased it! We lived in an RV with three littles for over a year until we could get electricity to a house and on it. With much sacrifice and time, we had a place of our own to call home.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our business is a labor of love and dedication. I handmake goat’s milk soap, a product that stands out for its quality and unique ingredients. We homeschool our three children and run a 10-acre dairy goat farm, where we milk our own goats twice a day for our soaps. What sets us apart is our commitment to using raw goat milk from our own herd of dairy goats. This ensures the highest quality and purity of our soaps. I am immensely proud of my family and the sacrifices we have made over the past 11 years to build this business.
