Hidden Gems: Meet Paige Bond of Couples Counseling of Central Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Bond.

Paige Bond

Hi Paige, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Intrigued by stories of love from a young age, you might have called me a hopeless romantic. I disagreed and dared to be a hopeful romantic. As a pre-teen, addiction strained my family. They couldn’t take the heat any longer, and my parents’ marriage went up in flames by my adolescence. This ignited a burning desire to discover the secrets of love and relationships. As an avid reader of fantasy and fiction, I got lost down the romance rabbit hole in my high school years. This gave me a false perception of what relationships take to last. Storybook romances don’t cover that love is insufficient for a relationship to survive. As someone curious about love and why relationships do (or don’t) work, I knew I wanted to be in the helping field. In college, I studied psychology, which only furthered my obsession with human behavior. Determined to save people from heartache, I wanted to learn about human connection. I pursued a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy to see clients in private practice, where I still am today.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been relatively smooth so far?
The road is always challenging as a solopreneur. I didn’t attend business school and realized quickly being a small business owner meant taking on more jobs than I ever had anticipated. Not only am I the owner/CEO of my practice, but the therapist, marketing specialist, admin assistant, financial manager, the list goes on and on. I came close to giving up my private practice dreams because I was burning the candle at both ends. I’ve since learned to create and enforce boundaries in my business to protect myself from burning out. The journey certainly hasn’t been smooth but now I can experience fun AND rest in my business that lights me up, seeing relationships change right before my eyes.

Thanks. So, what else should our readers know about Couples Counseling in Central Florida?
When I started seeing clients in my community, I noticed a high need for sex-positive therapists in my area. Many of my clients explored some form of nonmonogamy, and my schooling didn’t prepare me to help this community. I pursued training by leading relationship experts who specialize in consensual nonmonogamy to serve these clients better. At Couples Counseling of Central Florida, I’m proud to offer accelerated resolution therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and couples or polycule retreats. I’m pleased to provide affirming and knowledgeable services to the nonmonogamous, kinky, and LGBTQIA+ community. Later, I expanded services beyond my therapy practice and created a coaching business. I focus on helping people-pleasers navigate nonmonogamy so they can tame their relationship anxiety and love with ease. These clients are guided to design their dream relationships based on their values. This business was born out of my insecurity when navigating opening up with a past partner while feeling lost and anxious. Moreover, I develop workbooks, courses, and other high-touch experiences to provide personalized relationship coaching services. Oh, and don’t forget to catch an episode of the Stubborn Love podcast, where I give actionable relationship advice in every episode.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the diversity that Orlando brings, not only to its residents but also to its activities. On one side of town, you have theme parks and excitement galore! Just a hop, skip, and jump away are the beautiful springs and state park hiking trails natural Florida offers. The worst part about living in central Florida is the traffic. In Orlando it takes one hour to get to Orlando, even when it may only be 15 miles apart!
