Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole & Michael Saunderson.
Hi Nicole and Michael, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our story began quite serendipitously one day while we were chatting in the pool. We realized that our shared hobby of photography and our mutual passion for eventually working for ourselves could become something more than just a dream. Inspired by this, we decided to turn our love for photography into a side hustle. For several years, we dedicated our nights and weekends to building our business while holding down full-time jobs.
As life progressed, we got married and welcomed our son into the world. It was then that we made a pivotal decision for Nicole to devote herself full-time to Dreamscape Photography + Video (and of course our son), while Michael continued with his full-time job to ensure stability. This step allowed us to focus more on growing our business, refining our craft, and expanding our network.
A year later, feeling more confident and prepared, we took the plunge together into making Dreamscape our full-time careers. Through hard work, dedication, and continuous learning, we honed our skills and built a strong clientele and networking base, heavily relying on the powerful tool of word-of-mouth referrals. We found that being true to ourselves, along with the support of our family and the community was instrumental in our success!
Looking back, we are immensely grateful for the journey we’ve traveled. It wasn’t always easy, but the challenges we faced were made worthwhile by the incredible people we’ve met along the way. Their support, along with the unwavering help from our family on a daily basis, has been invaluable in helping us grow into the successful full-time photographers and business owners we are today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our journey has definitely had its ups and downs, but we wouldn’t change a thing because it has brought us to where we are today. Deciding to go full-time in January of 2020, right before the world shut down due to COVID-19, was undoubtedly one of those low moments. The sudden and unforeseen challenges of the pandemic tested us in ways we hadn’t anticipated, but they also made us stronger and better business owners and individuals.
One of our biggest challenges has been managing growth. We take great pride in the client experience we provide and prioritize our family time. However, there are times when we find ourselves overwhelmed with work. While it’s a blessing to have a thriving business, it can sometimes encroach on our family time. These moments remind us why we started this journey in the first place. We work hard to complete our tasks and maintain our high standards with clients so we can refocus on our family.
Every day is a learning experience, and we strive to be kind to each other, navigate challenging times together, and celebrate our victories together with our son. The support from our family, especially Nicole’s parents who help babysit our son while we work, has been invaluable. This journey, with all its highs and lows, has shaped us into the dedicated and resilient business owners we are today.

We’d love to share more about our work and what makes us unique. We are photographers and videographers specializing in couples and weddings, families, and corporate and business clients. Our style is creative, modern, and consistently stunning, which has become a hallmark of our brand.
One of the things we’re most proud of is our reputation for exceptional client interaction. We’re known for our kindness, never cutting corners, and always going above and beyond for our clients. Our skills in lighting and capturing the perfect photo set us apart, ensuring every shot is beautifully illuminated and composed.
Nicole takes immense pride in Mike’s dedication to continuous learning. He constantly invests time in mastering new techniques, which elevates our work and keeps us at the forefront of the industry. On the other hand, Mike is proud of Nicole’s dedication to creating an exceptional client experience. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that our clients feel valued and supported before, during, and after our sessions.
Additionally, we’re proud to provide guidance to others in our industry, sharing our knowledge and helping fellow photographers and videographers improve their craft.

Any big plans?
Our plans for the future involve broadening our reach into other aspects of the photography industry. We have been tirelessly working on a few exciting projects that we hope to bring to fruition within the next few months. While we love what we do and are passionate about continuing our work, we are always looking for ways to keep it fresh and fun.
We are exploring new creative avenues and expanding our services to offer even more to our clients. This includes enhancing our offerings in both photography and videography, and possibly venturing into new genres and techniques that will allow us to capture even more unique and stunning moments.
We are also looking forward to connecting with more clients and continuing to build relationships within our community and industry. These efforts not only help us grow as professionals but also ensure that we are constantly evolving and improving the experience we provide to our clients.
Our future plans are all about growth, innovation, and maintaining our passion for photography and videography. We are excited about what lies ahead and are committed to bringing our visions to life while continuing to do what we love, all while spending time together as a family.
