Dr. Kimberly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had the gift of inspiring others to achieve their goals. Growing up in Orlando, FL, I advocated for myself and my peers in school and the community despite initially needing clarification on whether my voice was heard. I made a name for myself by challenging teachers, administrators, and community representatives to make sensible decisions that impacted others. As I got older, I continued to speak and lead organizations at school, in the community, and at work. Recognizing the value of my voice, I sought to impact change in spaces others deemed impossible. Climbing the corporate ladder, I noticed many people needing to speak up for their career advancement or to start their businesses. Hearing their stories of dissatisfaction with life choices and careers inspired me to start Queen Kim Enterprises, LLC, dba Let’s Grow Institute. For over 10 years, I have transformed goal-setters into Goal Getters with The C.O.D.E. Goal Setting Cycle™. The C.O.D.E. is my innovative coaching model for clarity, options, discipline, and execution. I have also hosted women’s conferences, spoken on global platforms, authored best-selling books, and empowered people to move from stagnation to results. I aim to continue speaking at international events and train women leaders on research-based strategies to Lead in High Heels™.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Balancing a 9-5 job and running a business is challenging. When I started my business, I coached my Goal Getter clients in coffee shops before I could afford a co-working space. The co-working space was a game-changer, providing whiteboards for mind-mapping and a setting for clients to practice speaking confidently. The global pandemic shifted my coaching to digital platforms, a daunting transition for an extrovert like me who thrives on in-person interactions. Learning to connect with people through a screen was initially terrifying. Despite my strong time management skills, balancing a career and a business remains an ongoing struggle. The key to becoming an Ultimate Goal Getter is finding “alignment” in all areas of life. I often advise people to stop hustling and instead focus on the work they are called to do for a more significant impact.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people know me as Coach Kim, but they might need to realize my entrepreneurial journey began in Cosmetology. As a teenager, I started doing hair and even completed a dual-enrollment program in high school for Cosmetology. I loved making women look and feel amazing after their hair appointments. Additionally, I worked as an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay, where I inspired women to fall in love with skincare and use makeup to enhance their natural beauty. Throughout my entrepreneurial endeavors, my focus has always been on uplifting women. Today, I continue this mission by coaching women to eliminate self-doubt and achieve their goals.
