Today we’d like to introduce you to HeatBack. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Ezekiel and Jarrod have been friends for about 10 years. After discovering they both played music, they started busking around downtown DeLand. In high school, Bryce, Thomas, and Ezekiel met and bonded over a love for music. About 2 years after high school, Ezekiel moved in with roommates with a garage. From there, we formed the band.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been smooth and slowly gaining traction from random shows in Florida. The hardest thing is having to work full-time jobs while booking shows.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
Many bands in our scene align themselves with a genre and stick with it. Whether on purpose or not. Between our music taste and our songwriting, our songs need to fit one genre better. That might be what we are known for.
Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
