Today we’d like to introduce you to Braden Showley
Hi Braden, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Evershock is a young Alternative Rock from Orlando, Florida. Their lineup consists of guitarist/vocalist Braden Showley, guitarist Valentino Terry, bassist Thomas Mendoza, and drummer James Edwards.
Braden Showley met Valentino Terry in the 8th grade, and the two quickly became friends after Terry Joined Evershock, which was just an amateur garage band at the time. After almost 2 years, Evershock’s first lineup fell apart, which prompted Showley and Terry to recruit drummer James Edwards in late 2022. Bassist Thomas Mendoza was added to the lineup in the summer of 2023.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Recently, things have been going great for Evershock. They’ve been playing shows consistently and putting smiles on the faces of many rock and alternative fans.
In the first few years of the band’s existence, their main problem was having a consistent practice schedule. Evershock was created by Braden Showley when he was only 13, so it was difficult for him to find other kids his age who shared the same burning passion for making music. Understandably, some of the other boys in the band started to shift their interests towards other things, which was both frustrating and heartbreaking for Showley as well as guitarist Valentino Terry.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Evershock is an alternative rock band. They are known by locals for their catchy riffs and raw energy, similar to that of a punk band. The smooth, groovy basslines of Thomas Mendoza set the foundation for the songs, which are expanded upon by the distorted, aggressive guitars of Valentino Terry and Braden Showley. The two guitarists sometimes switch between rhythm and lead, but you will usually see Terry playing lead, while Showley plays rhythm and sings with simple, yet very effective melody. Drummer James Edwards holds the whole band together with his powerful chops.
The band’s take on guitar-driven music is very well-received and enjoyed by those who attend their concerts. Their authentic sound is sure to give new listeners a memorable experience.
So far, Evershock’s biggest accomplishment is the release of their first single “Superbrain”, which just recently surpassed 1,000 streams on Spotify. The band plans to release more music soon.
