Hi Karl, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I had been interested in marketing and advertising from a young age, so I pursued that in my studies. I studied marketing for both my bachelor´s degree and MBA degree. After graduation, I got a job at a marketing agency, and I went more into the digital side pretty quickly. I enjoyed that and have been in digital marketing for 10+ years. After a few years of working at other agencies and in the marketing department at a vast corporation, I decided to start my marketing agency in 2018. Initially, I started doing different kinds of services. I worked with many other types of businesses, and it was a great learning experience. Still, after a few years of doing that, we started to focus on working with home service businesses since we enjoyed it and had gotten so many of those types of businesses great results through online marketing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it was not a smooth road. Initially, I had no idea how to get clients and what those clients were willing to pay for help with their marketing, so it was all about the hustle, to begin with, talking to business owners, networking, and then getting referrals from those clients I started working with. I was lucky not to spend one dollar on marketing in the first few years. Only when I wanted to grow the business even more did I start to spend money on advertising. Also, when you first go into business, and this is the first time you have done it, there is a learning curve on everything from the processes to software. To run a business day to day, so I feel that all of those things that I had to learn have had a significant impact on me when it comes to how to run a business today and manage a team since I had so many different hats on, so I understand how it all works together.

We’ve been impressed with Astrado Marketing Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
Astrado Marketing Group specializes in helping businesses in the home services niche get more leads and close more jobs online. We create a custom solution that increases your online visibility and gets you more leads from your website. We also work with the business owners to develop processes so that they can close more of those leads and keep their customers happy. I like to look at it in a way that we are not just a marketing agency for them but a marketing partner, so we want to help them improve everything from when the potential customers search online over to everything that happens along the way until those potential customers turn into actual customers. What makes us stand out from a lot of the competitors is that we take great pride in what we do, and we know that what we do works, which is why we offer a guarantee to our clients that we will increase their revenue by a specific amount and in a particular time frame. Only a few competitors are willing to do that, making us stand out and making it much easier for potential clients to trust us.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As a kid, I enjoyed analyzing things and thinking a lot. I remember watching commercials and reading newspapers, looking at the ads in the paper, thinking about the messaging and style of ads, and often wondering how effective they were in sending the intended message. So, from a young age, I started to think about those types of things, and it has always continued, which is why I always enjoy the day-to-day work, and the data and marketing strategies are not just work for me; it is something that I enjoy doing.
