Today, we’d like to introduce you to Pierce Kafka.
Hi Pierce, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey with videography began in middle school, driven by a passion for storytelling, collaboration, and learning more about technology. In high school, I launched my first company, producing corporate videos, commercials, and music videos, and I had a lot of fun doing it.
It was during my college years that I met my wife Michelle, who had that same passion but with earned media through PR. Together, we’ve formed a dynamic partnership at KMG, blending a creative and analytical approach to marketing. At KMG, we take pride in our untraditional method of media outreach. Rather than publicizing a single announcement, we get to the emotional truth and craft narratives that result in multiple announcements.
Our goal is to serve our clients as a strategic consultant, tailoring plans that leverage the most effective media channels—whether it’s social media, publications, websites, videos, or influencers. In a rapidly evolving landscape, we prioritize building relationships over selling services.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At the start of KMG, we developed a 15-year plan and continue to hit these milestones as we plan for the next 15 years. Part of our plan was anticipating and preparing for difficulties along the way, viewing each difficulty as an opportunity, just as we do with our clients.
We once faced a challenge with a client struggling to obtain FDA clearance. Initially, this caused a difficulty in our ability to position them as thought leaders in the media. However, we turned this setback into an opportunity by highlighting this hurdle in the media, ultimately generating the public attention needed to speed up their approval process.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
KMG is a creative integrated marketing firm specializing in technology, entertainment, and health. We see marketing as a unified strategy where everything from print media, broadcast, social media, and influencers serve as channels for media outreach.
What sets us apart is our deep understanding of clients and current cultural trends, allowing us to tell their stories in a way that builds a scalable brand identity. At the end of the day, we want our clients to be more well-known. In today’s culture, we understand that a large community behind a brand holds significance; it not only attracts investor funds but also can enact change and influence the public, creating a self-generating cycle.
What we are most proud of at KMG is our highly skilled team and collaborative processes. It’s not just about what we do but how we do it, and our team makes all the difference.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson we always come back to is the significance of trust—establishing trust with our clients, fostering trust within our team, and nurturing trust with our media contacts.
