Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Lambert.

Rebecca Lambert

Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The idea of Vintage Giggles started when two friends decided to start a company on a whim. It was Brooke’s second baby shower, and she didn’t think she needed anything as she had everything she needed from her first baby. So Rebecca decided to make a few things for her with the sewing machine she had just been given. The items were a hit at the shower, and Brooke talked Rebecca into selling them. Thirteen years later, Vintage Giggles still makes and sells those same products.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When the journey requires determination, perseverance, and problem-solving, the destination is appreciated more. Vintage Giggles has stood the test of time as it has successfully navigated many relocations, hurricanes, family emergencies, business lessons, ownership changes, and team building. A smooth road would not have shown us what we are made of. Now, we know.

As you know, we’re big fans of your work. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with it?
We make quilts. It still feels like a funny thing to say because we don’t consider ourselves quilters. We recreate families’ memories in a textile mosaic of their most treasured items. We are known equally for the meticulous details we put into our work and how we incorporate our customers closely in making their quilts. I don’t think that proud is the right word, but the one thing that we are so fortunate to have is a great team. Many women have shared our studio space over the years. Some were designing, some were sewing, some were assisting in the various prep work, and some were sitting behind computers making sense of the numbers. The one thing consistent over the years is the peaceful presence unmistakably felt the minute you step foot in the studio. That results from the labor of love and sentimental recognition each team member puts into the work. Big things happen in our small space. What sets us apart from others? I can’t answer that question because we know little about anyone who makes quilts. We do what we do and keep our hearts focused on what awaits us. That could be what keeps us different. I can’t say.

What does success mean to you?
When you are doing what you love and have the opportunity to do that day after day, month after month, year after year, that is success. Everything else follows suit when your work fills your heart.
