Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeren Kosienski
Jeren, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began in the HVAC trade at the age of 18 as a helper. Not too long after that, my grandparents’ AC unit broke and needed replacement. They resided in The Villages and some of the local companies at that time were taking advantage of the elderly community with shady and monopolistic sales tactics. After installing a new AC unit for my grandparents, their close friends and neighbors also reached out to me for help. This inspired me to start my own business where I knew I’d be able to do business the right way, providing both high-quality work and honest prices. I genuinely look forward to each and every time a customer gives Aloha Air the opportunity to repair or replace their AC.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting to this point took a lot of time, schooling, and physical and mental labor. It’s a hands-on trade, but to start a business, it also requires a lot of book work. In the beginning, I was working during the day and going to technical school at night just to become HVAC certified and become a sub-contractor. Then, to take the next step of starting a business, I had to go back to school to earn the required contractor’s licenses. I used all of the money I had left in my bank account to obtain all the necessary licenses and purchase the tools and equipment for our first big job. Being a business owner has definitely been a long road with many challenges, but that’s one of the things that makes it rewarding.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in Hawaii and was always into sports and of course the beach. I had a lot of freedom as a kid and spent much of my time with friends and family, as everyone in Hawaii is very close and community-oriented. I came Orlando at the age of 14. As I got closer to adulthood, I realized that college wasn’t for me as I wanted to do something more hands-on. HVAC seemed like a great choice as air conditioning will always be a necessity in Florida!
